April 2024 EGTL MeetingFrom April 5-6, 2024, the European Group on Tort Law met in Vienna to discuss amendments to the Principles of European Tort Law, in particular new provision on prescription.
September 2023 EGTL MeetingFrom September 29 to 30, 2023, the European Group on Tort Law met in Innsbruck to discuss amendments to the Principles of European Tort Law, adopting a reform of the provisions on strict liability.
September 2023 Medical Liability ConferenceOn September 28, 2023, the European Group on Tort Law co-organized a conference on "Medical Liability in the Digital Age" together with the Research Center Medical Law of the University of Innsbruck.
December 2022 Virtual meeting On December 21, 2022, the European Group on Tort Law held its fifth virtual meeting, continuing the discussion on updating the PETL rules on strict liability.

December 2021 Virtual meeting On December 17, 2021, the European Group on Tort Law held its third virtual meeting, discussing the state of the current workplan.
October 2020 Virtual meeting On October 23, 2020, the European Group on Tort Law held its second virtual meeting, laying out details of the work in preparation of providing insight into the grey zone between fault and strict liability, with the ultimate goal of updating the PETL.
August 2020 Prescription The latest book of the European Group on Tort Law is out! Intersentia just published "Prescription in Tort Law: Analytical and Comparative Perspectives" edited by Israel Gilead and Bjarte Askeland.
July 2020 Virtual meeting On July 21, 2020, the European Group on Tort Law held its first virtual meeting, discussing the current workplan.
May 2020 Pierre Widmer The European Group on Tort Law sadly has to announce the passing of one of its founding members, Pierre Widmer, on May 13, 2020. Read more »
March 2020 While our Group meeting in April had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation, we can at least announce that all papers presented at the "Civil liability and new technologies" conference in Gdańsk (see below) have now been published in the Polish Insurance Review "Wiadomości Ubezpieczeniowe". All papers can be accessed online at its April issue website.
October 2019 Virtual meeting From October 11 to 12, 2019, the European Group on Tort Law met in Gdańsk (Poland) to prepare its current project on the bases of liability from fault to strict liability and their justifications.
October 2019 On the eve of the most recent meeting of the European Group on Tort Law, some of its members presented legal challenges of new technologies at the international conference "Civil liability and new technologies" on October 10, 2019, at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk. September 2019 Borderlines The European Group on Tort Law just published its book on "The Borderlines of Tort Law: Interactions with Contract Law" (edited by Miquel Martín Casals) with Intersentia.
April 2019 Christopher Robinette The European Group on Tort Law is proud to welcome Christopher Robinette as a new member from the United States.
April 2019 Virtual meeting The European Group on Tort Law met in Vienna (Austria) from April 23-25, 2019, to finalize the project on prescription and to discuss the workplan on the revision of Title III of the PETL.
October 2018 In its second meeting of the year from October 18-19, 2018, in Girona (Spain), the European Group on Tort Law inter alia discussed national reports on the current practice of the law on the bases of liability as outlined in Title III of the PETL.
August 2018 The European Group on Tort Law is pleased to report that its member Michael D. Green was selected to receive the 2018 Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section’s Robert B. McKay Law Professor Award. The award was presented on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at the Section’s James K. Carroll Leadership Awards Dinner during the ABA’s Annual Meeting in Chicago.
